Type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, diabetic neuropathy and Statin drugs

High levels of cholesterol and unhealthful percentages, all types of cholesterol is known to be often in type 2 diabetes. One of the main systems of your body by poorly controlled diabetes, the nervous system. Damage to this system is known as diabetic neuropathy. According to a survey conducted at the University Al-Nahrin in Baghdad, Iraq, low levels of high-density lipoprotein (HDL)), hygiene, or "good" cholesterol particles which helps to clean your arteries, could be associated with diabetic neuropathy.

According to the report published in April 2011 for the Indian Journal of Endocrinology and metabolism, 51people diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and 31 non-diabetics used as controls were included in the study. Blood sugar levels, blood pressure and studies on their nerves in arms and legs, made for a period of one year. Found in people with diabetic neuropathy had significantly higher blood pressure than non-diabetic neuropathy. People diagnosed with neuropathy have on average 14 percent lower levels of HDL cholesterol than non-diabetics in the study.

Although this preliminary study does not guarantee If you:

a normal blood pressure ... 120/80 mm HG, andhealthy cholesterol levels ... a good level of HDL cholesterol is at least 60 mg/dL, and an optimum level of LDL cholesterol is below 100 mg/dL;

This does not mean you will be safe from the development of diabetic neuropathy. But the truth is good blood pressure control with healthy levels of HDL, you certainly are known to prevent heart disease ... This could be just one more reason for keeping both.

To calculate your ratio of cholesterol: your total cholesterol by dividing your number HDL. The American Heart Association says you should have an aspect ratio of cholesterol, or below, 5: 1. Is your goal should be not less than 4: 1.

At lower levels of total cholesterol: a vegan diet is ideal, because it does not contain fats and cholesterol found in animal foods. Mayo Clinic recommends:

oats, other whole grains and other high-fiber foods like fruits, vegetables and beans in lower LDL.
almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, peanuts, pecans, pine nuts and pistachios some nuts may also reduce cholesterol levels.
olive oil is good for reducing LDL levels without affecting HDL levels. Combine oil with balsamic vinegar for a tasty salad dressing.
oilseed flax and canola oil are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, they not only improves cholesterol levels but also help reduce blood pressure.
Walking every day, normalizing weight and stopping smoking are also great ways to increase your HDL levels.

Statin drugs: in case of diet, exercise and lifestyle changes, medication is not enough available lower cholesterol and improve your total cholesterol/HDL ratios. The drugs usually prescribed statins class from your doctor to reduce your total cholesterol and, to a lesser extent, increases levels of HDL. Include:

lovastatin (Mevacor), rosuvastatin (Crestor), fluvastatin (Lescol), atorvastatin (Lipitor), pravastatin (Provachol), andsimvastatin (Zocor).

Statin drugs, however, does not always improve the overall situation for type 2 diabetics. What they can do is mask problems by reducing cholesterol area "normal" numbers. People with type 2 diabetes should have their levels of insulin or insulin-to-glucose ratio is checked before taking statin drugs. Unless you have checked your insulin levels, cooking up a recipe for:

heart disease, Alzheimer 's, which is sometimes known as type 3 diabetes, andeven cancer.

High insulin levels are connected to the abovementioned diseases. If your doctor suggests statin medications to help lower your cholesterol levels, don't hesitate to ask your insulin levels are checked prior to the start.

The Q10: Statin drugs may jeopardize your organization's ability to CoQ10, heart-healthy nutrition. (Some diabetic medications also). A disadvantage of the Q10 (CoQ10) causes many problems, including shortness of breath, breath of cardiac arrhythmias, heart attack, stroke, and more. So, if you referred to statins, also ask your doctor about adding CoQ10 in your list of medicines?

CoQ10 is useful for everyone, not just people with type 2 diabetes. CoQ10 is useful for anyone who experiences leg cramps and muscle pain, which is often the result of the effects of drugs-mugging "statin drugs.
